The Certified Wireless Network Engineer (CWNE) credential is the final step in the
CWNP program. By successfully completing the CWNE examination, network engineers and administrators
demonstrate that they have the most advanced skills available in today's wireless LAN market.
Passing this exam assures that the individual has mastered all relevant skills to administer, install,
configure, troubleshoot, and design wireless network systems. Routing, switching, packet analysis, and
advanced design are some of the areas of expertise for a CWNE. An in-depth understanding of both wireless
and wired network technology is essential to successfully passing the CWNE exam. The CWNE exam will test
the candidate's wireless networking knowledge in an intensive, hands-on testing environment.
Duration: Wireless LAN Analysis and Troubleshooting is a
5-day instructor led training class that focuses on using industry
leading protocol analysis and troubleshooting tools to discover,
diagnose, and correct performance and security issues in wireless
LANs.
About the Certification Exam: The CWNE certification will
consist of 2 exams.
1. Exam #PW0-400 will be a standard written exam delivered by Prometric Testing Centers worldwide and will require expert knowledge of wireless LAN protocol analysis and troubleshooting.
2. The CWNE Practical Exam will be a 1-day lab exam. The CWNE candidate will be presented with a complex design to implement using multiple vendors' wireless LAN equipment and software. Each configuration scenario and problem has pre-assigned point values. The candidate must obtain a minimum mark of 80% to pass.
